MAIN FOREST SPECIES SYSTEMS USED IN THE AMAZON AGROFORESTRY
Abstract
In the Amazon, there are many interests that has led to exploitation of its natural resources. The commercial value of many forest species, for example, has stimulated its intensive exploitation, and as a consequence, many species face extinction. One way to contribute to the safeguarding of this heritage is the use of agroforestry systems which present numerous ecological, economic and social advantages. However, that ha invest in more studies on forest species to compose this type of land use, in order to widen the range of options for different types of these systems. In this work, objectively identify, from a survey of information available in the literature, most forest species used in agroforestry systems in the Brazilian Amazon under different bioclimatic conditions. And for that, there was the identification of forest species from a literature concerning agroforestry. Species were detected in distributed in various coordinate systems and the governed under different bioclimatic zones and, therefore, beckon to a wide adaptability to different environments, facilitating its adoption. The results showed that it is the relatively small number of species currently used in this type of land use, and that, moreover, 8 need to invest more in research to expand the knowledge about new species and facilitate the adoption of agroforestry .
