GENDER AND AGROFORESTRY SYSTEMS: THE CASE OF stream-AÇU pari ??, BRAZIL.

Abstract

The work aims to study the role of men and women, family farmers, related to agroforestry (SAF) activities, as well as issues of access and control the resources of the family unit in Igarapé-Acu, Para.'s Method was used Participatory Rural diagnosis with a Gender Focus, applying their tools to men and women with experience of SAF. The results show that there are differences in gender relations in agroforestry activities in the family unit of the study area. The woman has control over the reproductive activities; however, decision-making on trade SAF is the responsibility of men, while they are responsible for decisions about the homegardens.
