Abstract

Studies with rosemary -pepper show that this species has the potential allelopathic
on weeds , among which stands out the weed. In this study , we evaluated
the effects of concentration of aqueous extracts of rosemary -pepper in the development
of purple nutsedge tubers . The treatments consisted of aqueous extracts of
rosemary -pepper at concentrations of 0 , 10 , 20 , 30 , 40 , 50 , 60 and 70 % in cash gerbox
transparent containing coarse washed sand and ten healthy tubers of nutsedge spread
evenly along the container. The increase in the dose of rosemary extract -pepper
caused a reduction in the percentage of emergence and emergence rate index
purple nutsedge seedlings , as well as the inhibition of their development. in the larger
concentrations , the extracts showed higher number of tubers that did not emerge and
with advanced deterioration. The maximum effect was obtained at concentrations higher than 50 %
Extract of rosemary peppermint, decreasing the length and seedling vigor nutsedge .
