Abstract

Some isolated summarized, besides fixing N2, are able to solubilize poorly soluble phosphates, making the P available for plants and for themselves. However, Al and acidity of Amazonian soils may decrease the population of these microorganisms. This study evaluated the nodulation capacity, tolerance to acidity and Al toxicity, as well as the ability to solubilize phosphates of Ca and Al of 35 rhizobia in agricultural soils of Rio Preto da Eva, AM. Samples under agricultural cultivation were collected and used as sources of inoculum for the cowpea beans. The INPA-RP7, RP10-INPA, INPA-RP9, INPA-RP8, INPARP1 and INPA-RP3 inocula gave yield of dry mass of shoots and nodules greater than the witness. The majority of isolates (92%) showed tolerance to acid and aluminum was the most limiting factor because only 8% of the isolates showed tolerance to aluminum toxicity within 18 Assessment dial. Nodulation was critical to the yield of dry matter of cowpea plants, and the same correlated mainly with the dry mass of nodules.
