GROWTH OF SEEDLINGS OF YELLOW PASSION FRUIT IN DIFFERENT SUBSTRATES AND CONTAINERS

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different containers and substrates in the production of seedlings of yellow passion fruit. The seeds were germinated in trays of 120 ml volume, polyethylene bags and 750 ml tubes with capacities of 50 ml. The substrates used in the execution of the work were: Plantimax; Substrate (cattle manure, charcoal, earth and sand in the ratio of 2: 1: 1: 1 v / v); Substrate 'B' (vermicompost, soil, sand and charcoal - 1: 1: 1: 1 v / v) and Substrate C, (Plantimax charcoal, earth and sand 1: 1: 1: 1 v / v) . The experimental design was completely randomized in a 4x3 factorial design with four replications and five plants per plot. Using plastic as a container bag, the substrates A and B gave better development of seedling and when used for other containers, the effect of Substrates A and B were the same as plantmax and both different from 0 C substrate using the substrate C, in addition to promote development of lower than other substrates seedlings, annulled the effect of different containers.
