REMOTE SENSING IN MONITORING OF LAND USE ON PROPOSED REFORM OF AGRI ?? RIA: the case of Settlement Project gathered
Abstract
The implementation of projects of rural settlements by the Government assumes its application to families of rural workers in areas acquired by the Federal Government, which has the responsibility to also provide financial support and infrastructure, in the key of Agrarian Reform program. This support given by the State ceases to farmers is evident when the economic and social empowerment of families involved, when it is triggered emancipation project. The aim of this study is to observe the evolution of economic activities related to land use in the Settlement Project gathered in Promissão (SP), from digital processing of satellite images, visual interpretation and correlation with field work. The results showed that there was an intense deforestation in the early years of the project, from 1984 to 1992, with large areas of natural forest replaced by agricultural activity.Downloads
