INCIDÊNCIA DE PARASITAS DO PHYLUM MYXOZOA (SUB-REINO PROTOZOA) EM PEIXES DA REGIÃO AMAZÔNICA, COM ESPECIAL DESTAQUE PARA O GÊNERO HENNEGUYA
Abstract
Neste trabalho realça-se a importância de ictioparasitas da fauna amazônica, destacando algumas espécies do gênero Henneguya Thélohan, 1892 (Phylum Myxozoa). Estes parasitas constituem um heterogêneo grupo que atua nos mais diversos tecidos, causando grandes malefícios e, em alguns casos, a morte dos seus hospedeiros. Estes parasitas têm sido encontrados em diferentes áreas geográficas e descritos em espécies pertencentes a vários grupos taxonômicos. O esporo dos parasitas do gênero Henneguya é constituído por duas valvas, cada uma delas com uma longa cauda. No seu interior localizam-se duas células capsulogênicas e uma célula esporogênica binucleada. As espécies encontradas em peixes do Amazonas da região próxima de Belém (Pará - Brasil), destacam-se cinco do gênero Henneguva: H. amazonica, H. striolata, H. ,nalabarica, H. adherens e H. testicularis, e, também, duas outras espécies de mixosporídeos Myxobolus braziliensis e Tetrauronema desaequalis, cuja morfologia ultra-estrutural será apresentada e discutida. Por outro lado, discute-se a ação dos parasitas sobre o tecido parasitado e a reação no hospedeiro.
