BEHAVIOR OF POPULATION cupiúba (Goupia glabra Aubl.) ON FOREST LAND FINANCE FIRM IN RIVER GRASS, PARAGOMINAS (PA)
Abstract
Goupia Aublet glabra, popularly known as cupiúba, is an arboreal species of the Celastraceae family. It has large trees and can often take up the position of upper canopy in primary forests. It's kind of great economic importance to the region where it occurs and the country, being marketed even in the international market due its various uses and peculiar characteristics. This study crosses knowledge of botany, ecology and commercial importance of the species with information from cupiúba structural behavior in order
facilitate actions of good forest management, including along with other species that make up the community in the study area and the region. In 84 ha of dense natural forest land in the Rio Grass, owned by Brazil Cikel Verde SA, in the municipality of Paragominas (PA), glabra Goupia was one of the most representative species as to their group in forest structure, being ecologically important in that area. Considering the trees with a diameter greater than 45 cm, the species has abundance of 0.81 tree / ha rate of 100%, with basal area of 0.41 m2 / ha, volume of 2.58 m3 / ha, diameter distribution in all classes of trees from 45 cm to 144 cm, and shaft acting as a good representative for commercialization.
