PERFORMANCE OF BROILER APPLIED diets supplemented with PROBIOTIC OR PROMOTER OF GROWTH
Abstract
The research was conducted aiming to evaluate the performance of broiler chickens subjected to diets supplemented with probiotics or growth promoters. We adopted a completely randomized design with three treatments, 10 replicates and 25 chicks, males, AG Ross 308 per experimental unit. The diets based on corn and soybean had levels of metabolizable energy and crude protein, respectively, 3,000 kcal / kg and 22% in the early phase (1-21 days) and 3,150 kcal / kg and 20% at the final stage (21 -42 days). The probiotic liquid colostrum was used, consisting of Enterococcus faecium and Lactobacillus sp. Administered via water within the first 10 days of life of the poultry. No significant differences (P> 0.05) were detected among treatments for feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion. A bacteriological examination of the feces showed bacterial growth in all treatments. It is concluded that the addition of probiotic growth promoter and, respectively, to feed and drinking water did not cause significant effect (P> 0.05) on performance of broiler chickens during 1-42 days of age.
