Abstract

This study aimed to assess soil quality four areas (planting cassava, banana agroforestry, poultry and secondary forest) in Ubatuba (SP) through
study of soil fauna. The cassava area had the lowest number of individuals m-2 and lower richness of taxonomic groups, while the opposite was observed for forest systems. The vertical distribution showed the importance of the litter dry time, since most
bodies of soil fauna was found associated with this compartment. Forest systems showed a composition of broader taxonomic groups compared to monoculture of cassava.
