INTENSITY OF PEST INFESTATION IN STRAINS OF SOYBEAN Vegetable
Abstract
Seeking to enter the vegetable soybean as a new protein source in the Brazilian diet, Embrapa Vegetables has selected strains with good palatability and potential market acceptance. Besides pleasing the tastes of consumers, this also needs to be resistant to attack by pests, so that its production is feasible. Therefore, this work aims to study the degree of pest infestation and the incidence of spiders and other natural enemies associated with vegetable soybean lines: CNPH003, CNPH004, BRS155, BRS183 and BR36 in irrigated cultivation in northern Minas Gerais. There was less number of nymphs and adults of Bemisia tabaci in BR 36 lineage and more adults of this pest in CNPH (003 and 004) group. The CNPH group was attacked by more Chrysomelids by Frankliniella schulzei and Liriomyza sp .. On the other hand, BRS 155 was less attacked by Chrysomelids and F. shulzei and BRS 183 per Liriomyza sp .. In general, the group had a higher CNPH host capacity to pests and BR 36 line, followed by BRS group, the smaller host capabilities.
